Everyone who has ever been to Europe must know that our Easy Card (or another southern version iPass) in Taiwan is much more efficient. A card, which brings you everywhere you want!

If you're planning to visit Munich, you must get to know MVG first.
Why not take a few minutes to read the following brief introduction?

Since 2001, U-Bahn, Tram and Buses are all run by MVG.
(Although S-Bahn belongs to Deutsche Bahn, the ticket of MVG can still be used.)
It includes 8 underground lines, 15 tram lines and 79 bus lines. Since 2015 MVG has also provided bicycles for rent (similar as Ubike in Taipei).

Some ticket purchasing systems are quite infamous for their complicatedness, unfortunately Munich isn't an exception.
However, for tourists who stay only for a short term, there're three kinds of tickets, which are more oft used:

1. Short Trip (1,40 Euro):
You can only use this ticket for 2 underground stations and 4 bus-stops. Don't forget to check it clearly before you use it!

2. Single journey:
Before using this kind of ticket, you must first know which zone you're currently in, and which zone you are planning to go.
For example:
A. From Olympiazentrum on U3 to Marienplatz, because they're both located in the first zone, you just need a simple single journey ticket, which costs 2,70 Euro.
B. From Olympiazentrum on U3 to Dachau, you need to buy a 2 zones - ticket, which costs 5,40 Euro.
Therefore, visitors who come with plane and land on MUC need to pay 10,80 Euro for a 4 zones - ticket to reach the city center.

3. One day/Three days ticket:
This kind of ticket suits tourists the best, who enjoy heading around the whole areas. If you travel more than three times a day, it's your best option. There's also a group version, the price for 2 - 5 people is the same, which means, if you have more friends traveling with you, it will be even cheaper! (A single one zone one day ticket/A group one zone one day ticket: 6,40/12,20 Euro. A single one zone 3 days ticket/A group one zone 3 days ticket: 16,00/28,20 Euro) Another thing to mention about: there's no multiple zones choice for 3 days ticket!

Other sorts of tickets, such as Semesterticket, weekly/monthly ticket (which need to calculate "rings"), kids ticket etc., because they are less used by backpackers, so I shall not do more dissertation for them. On the other hand, there're customer services in some bigger underground stations and train stations, except of helping you purchase your tickets, they also offer free maps of transportation. Who wants to know more about could check out MVG's website: http://www.mvv-muenchen.de/en/homepage/index.html
